About an Altegra "Genuine" Warranty

A “Genuine” Warranty is one where the manufacturer, in this case, us (Altegra), genuinely cares about its products and their customers using them. They passionately back their customer’s decision to trust their products and will go lengths to ensure that if there is an issue that it’s resolved quickly, and in the best-case scenario for everyone involved.

We care, and we’ll do what we can to show you that.

What is an Altegra Warranty?

Altegra Australia Pty Ltd. warrants that your Altegra product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period as defined below (Product Warranty). This means that the product won’t be faulty and that it will look and work as advertised, during the product’s defined Warranty Period.

Who is covered by an Altegra Warranty?

The original purchaser of the Altegra product purchased within Australia or New Zealand is covered.

When am I covered by my Altegra Warranty?

The Altegra Warranty Period begins on the date the product was purchased by the original purchaser (as listed on the proof of purchase) and lasts for the duration of the product’s Warranty Period. Your rights during the Warranty Period are in addition to your consumer guarantee rights that cannot be excluded under ANZ Consumer Laws.

What is my Product Warranty?

The Altegra Warranty Period begins on the date the product was purchased by the original purchaser (as listed on the proof of purchase) and lasts for the duration of the product’s Warranty Period. Warranty Period

The product warranty period is the term that applies to your product where you can reasonably expect your product to be free of manufacturer’s defects. The terms are:

Lifetime Product Warranty

This warranty is provided for the goods period of the lifetime of the original purchaser. Applicable to:

  • Altegra Pro Lite aluminium gazebo and marquee frames.
  • Altegra Heavy Duty gazebo and marquee frames.

3-Year Product Warranty

This warranty is provided for the goods period of a 3-year term, starting from the date of purchase as outlined on the proof of purchase. Applicable to Altegra steel (Premium Steel) gazebos and marquees.
  • Altegra Premium Steel gazebo frames.

12-Month Product Warranty

This warranty is provided for the goods period of a 12-month term, starting from the original date of purchase as outlined on the proof of purchase. Applicable to all Altegra fabrics:
  • For example, Gazebo and marquee canopies, gazebo and marquee walls, banner material, tablecloths.

Can I claim for warranty after my warranty period?

We will make all reasonable effort to provide a warranty to your Altegra product even if outside the warranty period. However, we request that all warranty claims are lodged within 30 days of any fault and photographic evidence is provided.

What is important about the FY2020 warranty?

The introduction of our updated warranty period applies to purchases made on or after July 1st, 2020.

What if I purchased before FY2020?

If you purchased your Altegra prior to this date, we will honour your existing warranty period, as outlined below:

Our 10-year warranty term applies to all Heavy Duty gazebo and marquee frames purchased prior to July 1st, 2020.

5-Year Warranty

Our 5-year warranty term applies to all Pro Lite gazebo and marquee frames purchased prior to July 1st, 2020.

Altegra Genuine 2 year Manufacturer's warranty icon - for our Premium Steel 3x4.5m pop up gazebo and affordable 3x3m gazebo.

2-Year Warranty

Our 2-year warranty term applies to all Premium Steel aluminium gazebo frames purchased prior to July 1st, 2020.

Altegra's Elite marquee canopy 12 month warranty - all our gazebos and marquees are covered by our premium quality canopy and all are covered by our genuine warranty.

12-Month Warranty

Our 12-month warranty term applies to all Altegra fabrics purchased prior to July 1st, 2020.

Beyond Your Warranty

My Warranty Period is over, is that it for my beloved Altegra?

No, we care about the environment and we hate seeing damaged gazebos being thrown out. We design and build our products so all parts can be replaced in the event of an accident or if a fault occurs due to lengthy wear and tear. Simply visit our Marquee Builder and order replacement parts online! We’ll get them to you ASAP.

Exclusions to the Altegra Warranty

Unfortunately, but understandably, there are basic exclusions to the warranty that we are happy to offer with our products. They cover the event of fault if the product is being used in a manner that it was not intended. Pretty simple.

Are there any exclusions to the Altegra Warranty?

Subject to your rights as outlined by ANZ Consumer Laws and may be additional to the Product Warranty, Altegra does not give any warranty:
  • If damage was caused by a fortuitous event(s);
  • If you are not the original owner of the product;
  • If the product was purchased from a retailer other than those authorized by Altegra;
  • If safe anchoring instructions are not followed;
  • If you continued to use your product while it was damaged;
  • If the product was not erected completely according to the instruction manual with locking pins fully depressed when in use;
  • If regular inspection and maintenance is not carried out according to the Altegra product instruction manual;
  • If abrasive or rigorous cleaning methods and substances are used;
  • If the product was repaired by a person other than Altegra;
  • If the Altegra product was used for an activity other than those for which it was intended;
  • If the Altegra product and/or its components were subject to abusive use, negligence, abnormal and/or excessive use or was implicated in an accident;
  • If the product(s) were modified (ex: polishing, structural or mechanical modification or addition, stripping, sanding, strain hardening, shot peening);

Official Australian Warranty declaration:

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

How to claim an Altegra Warranty

What should you do in the unlikely event that you need a warranty?

You must stop using your Altegra product immediately to avoid causing injury or further damage. Contact us within the product’s warranty period by phone +61 1300 784 552 or email info@altegra.com.au.

At the discretion of Altegra, photos evidencing the fault or inspection upon the product’s return will be required before a warranty is issued. Take photos of the part and how the product is being used when the fault happened or as soon as it is observed.

We may need you to send the product back to us or a designated repair facility so that we can fix or replace it. We will let you know when you contact us.

What happens when I return my product under this warranty?

Defective products covered by this warranty will be replaced without charge, or Altegra will provide you with a refund of the purchase price of the product, minus any rebates, discounts, or return shipping of the defective product.

Do I get to choose how a warranty is handled?

Our intention is to provide a remedy that has the most satisfactory result for all parties. However, subject to your rights that cannot be excluded under the ANZ Consumer Laws the remedy offered under this Product Warranty will be determined by Altegra in its discretion. We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that you are satisfied with the decision made to resolve all product issues.

Are any charges associated with my warranty claim?

You will be responsible for any reasonable costs of returning your product to us. We can only ship replacement products under this Product Warranty to locations in the country where the original product was purchased.
